On a magical Saturday evening under the grand and ancient vaults of the Lutheran Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, with its perfect acoustics and unique atmosphere in the heart of historic St. Petersburg, we will hear musical masterpieces performed by the grandiose organ and the virtuoso soprano, united together by the life-giving power of music. Performers:
Galina Yelshaeva is a virtuoso organist, full-time organist at St. Michael’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg. She studied organ in the class of the famous St Petersburg organist Grigory Varshavsky. She trained under Professors J Trummer and Rost at the University of Church and Organ Music in Graz (Austria). Has taken part in international master-classes in Western Europe with leading organ masters. A concert musician who performs organ and carillon music programmes in various halls and cathedrals in Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Belgium and the USA.
Anastasia Vasilyeva is a lyric soprano, soloist of the St Petersburg State Philharmonic, winner and prize-winner of European and Russian competitions, participant of international music festivals. A guest soloist of St. Petersburg opera theatres, she is active in concert activities, the owner of an amazing voice and a delightful timbre.
